Hi I have heard that oil of clove could be used to increase and enhance the drying time of oil paints.
DO NOT MIX THE CLOVE OIL INTO THE PAINT ! but just drop one or two drops of clove oil on the side of your palette.
A piece of foam or a small cotton swab is best for this purpose !
The paint palette can also be kept in an airtight container and placed in the refrigerator freezer to enhance the drying time . make sure it is kept in a airtight container otherwise a coating of FREEZER BURN will appear on your paint . (which is not a big problem as it goes away but why to get to it when an airtight container can help us go past it ? )

Don’t need the freezer get bottled clove oil 100 % from Amazon cheep will last a year or more putyour leftovers on some paper stick in a tight container of any kind I use a dollar store container and walla.....don’t expect raw umber to last more than a couple of days but most the rest you can get up to a month or longer without skinning over
There is no better way...hence many artists use brush dip of clove oil and mghrams walnut oil just dip the brush and leg it sit up to two weeks. H saves the brushes for ever...”buit get the clove oil out of the brush before painting “ this is critical either use spirit s or if your a solvent free person wipe and clean several times in just your walnut oil.randy
